Sony S1 and S2 Tablets revealed

Sony S1 and S2 Tablets revealed
Sony has just unveiled its Android 3.0 tablet plans, revealing a pair of slates that it reckons can take on the might of the Apple iPad. The S1 and S2 both come loaded up with Honeycomb, the ace PlayStation Suite for PSOne gaming, eBooks from the Reader store, plus Sony’s Qriocity streaming service for downloading and streaming music and video.

The two devices themselves couldn’t be more different. The 9.4-inch S1 looks like your standard tablet, although as per a string of rumours, it has a slightly raised edge in order to resemble an open magazine. It also has universal remote control smarts, with the chance to share content via DLNA. This will only work on Sony’s Bravia boxes to start with, mind.

The S2, however, is something completely unique. Packing dual 5.5-inch screens, its designed to act as a DS-style games console as much as an easy eBook reader. It’s also crammed with DLNA for sharing media too.

There are set to be both 3G and 4G models when Sony releases the S1 and S2 in the autumn. There’s no doubting that both devices are going to give Apple, plus a string Android stablemates, plenty to think about in the next few months

industry entertainment korea

industry entertainment korea
- Most celebrities start training in their pre-teens or teens because the training process is usually very long. There are people who start later. It all depends on your skill level and the company that you sign. If you need extra language or acting training, then your training period can be longer. Also, certain companies want to train their artists longer than others. YG is known to train their artists for a longer amount of time, but they also let their artists have more freedom once they debut.

There are people in Korean band who are not Korean. One of the members of the extremely popular band Super Junior is Chinese and the newly debuted band U-Kiss has both Chinese and Japanese members. Since the Korean entertainment industry is trying to branch out and "conquer" markets in other countries, they are usually pretty open to having people of other nationalities in their bands. So far there are no non-Asians in any Korean bands, but the audition process for both SM and JYP is open to people of all ethnicities.

And as for dating... some companies are more open to their artists dating than others. SM and DSP, for example, don't really like their artists to be in relationships, but they can't really do anything to stop them. Most artists choose not to date because of their fans, mostly. Korean fans are known for being very clingy and a bit obsessive about their favorite singers/bands and most artists are afraid that they would loose fans or that their fans would in some way harm the girl they decide to date.
Hope that helped!!
-yes.... celebrities like BOA started dancing and singingwhen she was about 8 years old... pretty scary huh?
some just start at the age of 12 or 13......

and yes,, there are foreignors, but not that many....
but yes, some korean companies want to vary things up, and try to look for chinese or japanese talents.....
unfortunately, korean celebrities are given the ADVANTAGE, for being korean... RACE rises over beauty, talent, and fashion in most cases even in china, japan, and other countries..... at most i believe they can be like backdancers or supporters, no matter how good they are....
but i hope this doesnt cause a misunderstanding, there were alot of koreans who wanted to make it big in china or japan, but at the best could be a supporter.... the ONLY successful person i know is Younha which i think she is half-japanese half-korean....
so its the same for every country...

from - http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090611215458AAJ5lRM

and yes, celebrities are not allowed to date within the studio, though if its a personal life the company cant do anything about it.....
but that doesnt apply to korean,,, same with other countries..
even america,,, look at the most famous one which caused controversies which was britney spears and one of the backdancers....
-
actually..BoA started training when she was 11 [to the poster above]

1. It could be possible, but the younger the better. Generally, korean celebs train for 4-5 years, even longer if they have to. But if you're really good, 2-3 years.
2. There are some foreigners, but usually entertainment companies prefer Asians
3. Of course they're allowed to date, entertainment companies have no reason why that they should prohibit that. But most celebrities don't because they'll have to deal with all the publicity or they don't have time because of touring or training

Quality of Life in Europe

Quality of Life in Europe

Living longer is not enough - it is the quality of that life which counts. According to Alan Walker, Professor of Social Policy at the University of Sheffield, UK, quality of life among older people is a major focus for research in Europe and a driver of social policy. Professor Walker, who is also Director of the European Research Area on Ageing (ERA-AGE), says there are eight main 'models' of quality of life, which focus upon health and functioning, satisfaction of needs and so on. In many ways, the quality of life needs of older people are not really different from those of other age groups - we all place value on health, socio-economic status, social networks, satisfaction of emotional needs and other key factors.
What research in European countries has shown is that sources of quality of life do vary between different groups of older people. In the UK, for instance, it's been shown that black people place more value on a good neighborhood than white people. These differences are worthy of further exploration. What emerges from the research are core components in quality of life. "Control and mastery are shown to be extremely important," says Professor Walker. Many studies show the importance of health but he urges people not to assume that illness and quality of life are mutually exclusive. "There is firm evidence that when people are ill, health becomes less important as a quality of life factor." In UK, research which began with older people's views, all participants put social networks as top priority, with economic factors much further down their quality of life list. Environmental factors - inside and outside the home - and leisure and mobility are also important in determining quality of life in older people, but there has been far less research in these areas. ipad2 should buy or not

ipad2 should buy or not

After mulling over why you should buy the iPad 2 at launch, the logical follow-up is why you shouldn't get one and there are many reasons to hold back on buying that tablet with only one hour to go.
The 12 versions of the iPad 2 are almost certainly going to fall in price in the near future as Apple gives more leeway to its partners to deliver vouchers and discounts. Apple itself is very unlikely to cut prices but rather than penalising its partners as it did in the past, it will allow them more flexibility.
The accessories are expensive right now but will become less expensive in the future as more companies, especially those from the far-east Asia, get their hands on the final product and pump out weird and wonderful iPad 2 accessories.
Rivals are getting better so it is worth waiting a bit and seeing what Android tablets like the HTC Flyer, the Motorola XOOM and others will look like and feel at launch. Given that Samsung prelaunched its 10-inch tablet only a few months ago only to replace it two days ago with a new slimmer one shows how resourceful some companies can be. As Apple is likely to stick to a yearly product cycle, competitors have plenty of time to come up with something more spectacular within the next few months
The improvements are not hugely impressive compared to the original iPad, so if you have the old one, it might be better just to stick to the current one instead either until the pip squeak or if you desperately need the additional CPU horsepower, the better graphics capabilities or the two cameras for Facetime.
We’ve been getting a lot of questions from readers and friends over which iPad 2 you should buy. Should you go with WiFi only, or the 3G version for when you’re not around a hotspot? How much storage do you need? And most importantly, how do you choose between black or white?
The answer is that you should get the 16GB WiFi-only model in black. Here’s why:

WiFi + 3G or WiFi only Model?
If you’re planning on buying your first ever iPad tomorrow this is probably the decision you’re struggling with the most, but in reality it’s the easiest choice to make. If you have an iPhone then it makes little sense to purchase a 3G enabled iPad 2 when you can simply tether the iPad to your iPhone using the new HotSpot feature in iOS 4.3, or jailbreak your iPhone and run MyWi 4.0. Why pay an extra $130 for the 3G unit AND pay an extra $25 a month just to use that data connection when you can save yourself all that money by tethering to your iPhone?
However, there are a lot of future iPad 2 users who don’t have a smartphone to tether too. Even so, it’s still probably better to just get the WiFi version unless you plan on using your iPad a lot on the road, or outside where there are no WiFi hotspots. When I bought my original WiFi-only iPad last year it was surprising how many open wireless hotspots exist everywhere, even outside of my neighborhood or school. Living in a rural area is the only place where I can think you might want to consider buying the 3G iPad 2, but even then you really should check AT&T and Verizon’s coverage maps to make sure they have good 3G coverage in your area.
So, avoid the 3G models; stick with WiFi only.
Mow Much Storage Should I Get?:
That 64GB model looks really tempting with all that juicy storage space. Think of how many Apps you can fit on that puppy! However, Apps don’t take up that much room on your iPad. It’s all those music, movies and photos that occupy most of the storage on an iOS device. Before considering whether to get the 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB model you really need to consider what you’re going to be using it for. Do you travel a lot? If so then you might want the 32GB or 64GB unit so that you can pack it with movies to entertain you on your many business trips without having to re-sync new ones all the time. Your average full-length movie occupies 700MB of storage space. But if you’re going to mostly be using your iPad around the house then you can use Air Video to stream videos from your iMac or MacBook. I’m a big music lover and have a 210GB music library. There’s not an Apple device that can hold everything I want on it, so I rely on great cloud services like Spotify for my music, DropBox for my files, and Flickr for photos, leaving me with plenty of room for anything else.
Unless you’re looking to do some heavy lifting on your iPad most users will get by just fine with 16GB.
Black or White?:
This one comes down to personal taste, of course. There seems to be absolutely no difference between the white model and the black model. Personally, I think the white iPad looks a little bit more like a toy than the sexy black iPad. Some people say that the black bezel makes video playback look better because it’s a darker background, but most people probably won’t notice any difference at all.
However, you should go with black. Why? Because you won’t regret it in 6 months time, like you’ll regret getting white. For example, a couple of years ago, I thought the white iPhone 3G was more distinctive than the black. Plus it would be easier to spot lying around the house. But I eventually got tired of the white. It started getting on my nerves. Plus it showed nicks, scratches and filth. Not so with the black iPhone 4.
Go with black — it is classy, timeless, and you won’t regret it later.
Wrap Up:
In conclusion, I think it’s fairly safe to say that the 16GB WiFi only iPad 2 will be Apple’s biggest seller. It’s the cheapest option but it’s also everything that 90% of iPad users need. Some people may have special circumstances where they need that 3G connection or extra storage space, but most iPad owners use their iPad around the house for simple tasks such as surfing the net, playing games, listening to music, watching video and exploring apps. While it can be tempting to go all in and buy the 64GB iPad 2 with 3G and WiFi, most people are going to find that paying $829 for all those little extras is a bit of overkill. Plus, you know you’re just going to want to sell your iPad 2 in 11 months or so to get the iPad 3 when it comes out

Revenue from the theater

Revenue from the theater
theater Cinema advertising sees revenue spurt
By Marc Graser

Advertisers are moving more of their marketing dollars to the megaplex.
Revenue from in-theater ads grew 12.7% to $658 million in the U.S. in 2010, according to the Cinema Advertising Council, which revealed the results today at the CinemaCon confab in Las Vegas.

The figures mark the first time the CAC has seen double-digit growth from marketers since 2007, when they spent 18.5% more than in '06. Sales were up just 2% in '09, coming in at $584 million. Local ad sales grew 8.2%, accounting for 19.8% of the total cinema advertising market.

The CAC's results reflect 90% of domestic movie screens and count commercials that air before movie previews, as well as lobby-based promos. Onscreen ads dominate, with 91.5% of revenues, up 10.8% last year, though offscreen ads also grew 38% to account for 8.5% of the cinema ad market.
The uptick in spending is attributed to a growing number of newcomers, including Fujifilm, Esurance and Kraft brands like Ritz, Triscuits and Macaroni & Cheese, that bought in-theater ads for the first time. Overall, the top categories were auto, electronics, entertainment, financial, communications, consumer packaged goods, health and beauty, soft drinks, the military and videogames.
At the same time, digital projection and in-theater networks have enabled advertisers to target specific auds with campaigns and take advantage of 3D.
"More and more, brands are planning cinema as an integral part of their media mix in order to reach younger demographics and light TV viewers," said Cliff Marks, prexy-chairman of the CAC.
The nonprofit trade org serves cinema ad sellers, exhibs and advertisers. Miller, Kaplan, Arase & Co. tabulated the advertising data.

what is the best food in franch

In NYC, a city where chefs have been departing four-star kitchens to start barbecue joints and noodle bars for years, haute cuisine is already less than sacrosanct, the perfect climate for no-nonsense French cuisine. Le Fooding, a Paris based in organization championing messy eating and casual cooking will host a picnic-style dine-in at P.S. 1 in Long Island City, Queens this weekend (Sept. 25 &26). Come join the thousands expected to line up for plates of food from chefs like Yves Camdeborde and Alberto Herraiz from France as well as April Bloomfield and David Chang from NYC

France is the country that reveres fine cuisine and its masters: Brillat-Savarin, Escoffier, the Larousse Gastronomique. But according to Le Fooding’s founder Alexandre Cammas, this whole scene is great for the few privileged elite but is suffocated by an overabundance of white napkins and starchy chefs cooking in antique styles (and at prohibitive prices) for the lucky few.
Founded in 2000, Le Fooding eschews the star system like Michelin or Zagat and instead focuses on making French food sexy again by promoting more daring and creative French dishes. Especially since the French take haute cuisine so seriously, Le Fooding was regarded as revolutionary when they began holding huge picnics in French cities, with bistro chefs serving food that people ate with their hands and wine imbibed out of plastic cups. Spread the word and bring your friends
