Every year, a woman is crowned. She knows that for the next 12 months, whatever she does, she is the finest looking female on the planet. She can go to the local shop wearing “I hate puppies” pyjamas. She can cut her arm off, not ‘coz it’s trapped under a rock, just because she bloody well feels like it. Quite frankly, she can cause a massive oil spill off the coast of Weymouth, single-handedly raise tax to 50%, spit on the floor and stop to put a cat in a wheelie bin on her way home – it just doesn’t matter – she’ll still be the Sexiest Woman in the World.
This national institution has been entrenched in our lives since its inauguration way back in 1995. Claudia Schiffer took the title that year. Amazingly, she’s the only supermodel to have won the award.
